Very strange. I’ve had devices lock up because of bad RAM or bad video hardware – but the usual symptom has either been a black (unresponsive) screen or a BSOD. First thing to try would be a Windows restore disc or reload a fresh image. If that fails, I would tend to suspect a bad motherboard.
