Hey I just ordered a Viliv X70 – early!

I went to the site to have a look around and see if they had any info like last time about how to make the ordering experience easier and not to miss out on the pre-order: and I saw a buy now button. So I pressed it!

I waited until the appointed hour. Didn’t have a problem — I hope, as I’m still awaiting email confirmation, but did get an order page. Ordered the larger SSD; pricey, but necessary for my planned usage. Hopefully by the end of this month we’ll both receive our units.

Whihc one did you order? Both times I ordered the X70/32ssd/Premium. Still available to buy on the site at 8am or 6pm eastern. I didn’t expect the units to sell as fast as the S5’s.

I ordered the 128GB SSD Premium 3G. It is pricey, but for my planned usage, I’ve learned through other units that 32GB is tight. I usually pick devices that stay cutting edge for a while — I’m still using my HTC Advantage — so I figured it made sense to splurge on the larger SSD.

I went for the 32GB SSD as 16GB is definately too small! But the price jump to the 128 of $500 US is insane. You can buy yourself an aftermarket drive for much less and fit it and sell the 32GB.

The $500 price jump was admittedly steep. However, I’ve seen posts that with the 3G modem replacing the SSD would be problematic. Also, time for me is more at a premium than $s, and that there is a reason I don’t use my hands as a surgeon :-), so I went for it.
