Onkyo BX = UMID M2??
Apparently the Onkyo BX is based on the much anticipated UMID M2 design.
The promise of …
Spec-wise 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB RAM, and Windows 7…around USD500
… is in reality
1.2GHz Atom process, 512MB RAM running Windows XP SP3.
Oh..and no 3G and a price tag of ~ USD730
The Onkyo Japan website gives the following information:
Spec-wise, this isn’t much far off from my M1 (comparison in brackets below) except for small differences.
- Intel Atom 1.2Ghz (vs 1.1Ghz)
- 512MB RAM (same)
- 32GB SSD (vs 16GB)
- 1024×600 screen (same)
- Windows XP (same)
- Wifi b/g (same)
- BT2.0 (same)
- 1.3MP web cam (same)
- Optical pointer (vs none)
- JEITA operating time (idle) 7 hours. (vs real life 6 hours)
Me not impressed..
